Creative Movement
Children 3-4 years of age will spend 45 minutes per week, exploring movement, using shape, color and sounds with respect to large motor skills and flexibility. Musicality, imagination and freedom of expression through movement will help the student’s coordination and prepare them for classical ballet technique.
Pre-Ballet Technique
Children 5-6 years of age, will be introduced to ballet technique while continuing to explore movement through creative expression. Students, at this level will gain a better understanding of classical ballet technique and discipline while strengthening natural flexibility and introducing them to ballet terminology. The program is designed to prepare them for the study of classical ballet. Classes are held once a week for 1 hour.

Performances For JSB Creative Division
Christmas Celebration
In November, students will participate in an informal performance. This will allow the dancers to have an opportunity to perform in front of an audience showcasing the skills that have been taught in their classes, while giving them the opportunity to develop artistic expression.
JSB’s Annual Spring Recital
One of the most exciting events in a young dancers career, is having the opportunity to develop as an artist in a production setting. JSB will select from their repertoire, a full length story ballet to be performed by the entire school each Spring. Some ballets include; Hansel and Gretel, Twelve Dancing Princesses, Thumbelina, Coppelia. Many opportunities arise for our students showing talent and dedication to perform with Utah Metropolitan Ballet’s “Once Upon a Time” Children.
