Amy Cook

American fork, Utah

Amy is from American Fork, Utah. She received her training at Jacqueline’s School of Ballet under the direction of Jacqueline Colledge, Heather Gray, and Brittnee Squires. She attended summer intensive programs on full scholarship at Houston Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Jacqueline’s School of Ballet, and RDA National Choreography Intensive. Amy competed at Youth America Grand Prix from 2013-2016, placing in the top 12 each year. In the summer of 2015, she toured Europe performing as part of the Young Tanzsommer Festival in Austria. Amy was invited to train with Utah Metropolitan Ballet’s professional company in 2014 and became a full company member in 2016. She was promoted to Solo Artist in 2019 and became a Principal Artist in 2020. This will be Amy’s 8th season dancing with the company. Amy has danced in several lead roles with Utah Metropolitan Ballet including Wendy Darling in Jacqueline Colledge’s Peter Pan, Swanhilda in Jacqueline Colledge’s Coppelia, Dark Angel in George Balanchine’s Serenade, Turning Girl in George Balanchine’s Who Cares? Cinderella in Jacqueline Colledge’s Cinderella, as well as Snow Queen, Waltz of the Flowers Soloist and Sugar Plum Fairy in Nutcracker. Amy has been teaching for JSB since 2016.
