Brittnee Squires

Brittnee Colledge Squires has been the acting director of Jacqueline’s School of Ballet since 2002. In addition to management of school operations, teaching, and overseeing staff and student development, Brittnee has also produced several original school recitals and participated in the production of many UMB performances.

Brittnee’s ballet background began early as she trained as a dancer under the tutelage of Jacqueline Colledge, also included with her training was the opportunity to study by invitation at the Boston Ballet School and University of Utah where she was awarded the four year Willam F. Christensen Scholarship.

In 1995 Brittnee was chosen through audition to be a member of Ballet West. Her time with the company included dancing in several productions including; Fredrik Ashton’s “The Dream,” Peter Onastis’ “Peter Pan” Ben Stevenson’s “Coppelia,” ”Balanchine’s Divertimento 15. Upon leaving Ballet West Brittnee became the Principal dancer for Utah Regional Ballet where she performed Principal Roles including Juliet, in Romeo and Juliet, Sugar Plum and Snow Queen in the Nutcracker, Russian girl solo in Balanchine’s, “Serenade”and Le Corsaire pas de deux, which premiered on tour in Beijing China. She has also toured in Innsbruck Austria performing at the International Tanzomer Festival.

Coupled with her dancing Brittnee has choreographed many original pieces for Utah Metropolitan  Ballet, UMB II and other Regional companies across the Western United States. She is the two time recipient of the Regional Dance America Monticello Scholarship for talented choreographers. Brittnee has been recognized for her Choreography and coaching for the Youth America Grand Prix Ballet competitions, where her students have placed in the New York Finals and won Scholarships to professional Ballet Schools.

Jacqueline’s School of ballet was awarded Best School in 2014 and 2019.  Brittnee was awarded best teacher 2016 and 2017.

While teaching for JSB throughout the past seventeen years Brittnee has also been on Faculty at Utah Valley University and has guest taught out of state on several occasions including most recently for the Regional Dance America/Pacific Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada where she taught master classes in technique and pointe.
