Audition Required
This group of students is invited to the Professional Division by the JSB staff to concentrate on perfecting technique and developing artistry through intensive instruction. The Professional division is designed for the serious student, who may have the potential to pursue a professional career in ballet. Training is intensified by increasing technique, pointe, contemporary and repertory classes. Students selected for this constitutes to an agreement of dedication and time commitment necessary. Professional Track is a full-year commitment. Students are selected because of physical aptitude, focus, strength, musicality, and coordination. Classroom effort and attendance are also considered.
Performances
JSB’s Annual Spring Recital
One of the most exciting events in a young dancers career is having the opportunity to develop as an artist in a production setting. JSB will select from their repertoire, a full length story ballet to be performed by the entire school each spring. Some ballets include; Hansel and Gretel, Twelve Dancing Princesses, Thumbelina and Coppelia. Many opportunities arise for our students showing talent and dedication to perform with Utah Metropolitan Ballet’s “Once Upon a Time” Children Performing Arts Series. Nutcracker Students may audition for various roles in Utah Metropolitan Ballet’s Nutcracker in December.
Students in JSB’s Professional Division are invited to perform in UMB productions children’s roles. Some productions include; Romeo and Juliet, The Legend of Timpanogos, Peter Pan, Cinderella, A Mid Summer Nights Dream and Snow White.
