Placement Audition Required
Levels 1 Through Advanced Ballet Technique
Ages 7-18 will take a placement class for acceptance into the school to be placed at the appropriate level to begin. JSB’s curriculum represents the highest level of professional ballet training. Students will begin to build their classical foundation, developing strength, flexibility, control. Each individual student will be nurtured and encouraged to their own ability as they progress through the curriculum. JSB faculty is committed to quality, inspirational, dance education. Students are mentored and coached as they prepare for college or other opportunities that may become available to them in dance.
Enrichment Classes
Enrichment classes are optional and are offered for JSB’s Student division. JSB integrates elements from the best most progressive training in Modern Dance, Character, Contemporary, Improvisation and Jazz. When these classes are offered in conjunction with their classical ballet training, it will broaden their base of knowledge in the dance world and help them to understand what may be available to them.
Performances
Nutcracker
Students ages 7 and above, will have the opportunity to audition for select roles in Utah Metropolitan Ballet’s professional production of the Nutcracker.
JSB’s Annual Spring Recital
JSB will select from their repertoire, a full length story ballet to be performed by the entire school each Spring. Some ballets include; Hansel and Gretel, Twelve Dancing Princesses, Thumbelina Coppelia, and Don Quixote.
Utah Metropolitan Ballet Productions
Students showing great talent may be invited to perform in UMB productions. Some productions include; Nutcracker, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Legend of Timpanogos, Peter Pan, A Mid Summer Nights Dream and Snow White.
