June 17 – July 27,  2024

The JSB Summer Intensive Workshop exposes dancers to a variety of dance styles while continuing to focus on the development of proper technique and core strength. This is a fun and unique opportunity for young students as they will work with members of Utah Metropolitan Ballet artistic staff and dancers, JSB faculty and nationally acclaimed guest teachers. Workshop classes include Ballet Technique, Pointe, Repertory, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary and Body Conditioning. JSB helps students achieve individual success and prepares them for what is required in the professional dance world. Students have the option of choosing from one to five weeks of study. (July 1-6 off)

Choreography week July 22nd – 27th
During this week of our summer intensive, we will be exploring all aspects of choreography. Interested students will have the opportunity to apply to be selected as a choreographer for the week. Choreographers will have the opportunity to be mentored through the choreographic process having their vision come to life as they work with the dancers in rehearsals daily. Dancers will be able to learn skills to help them become more versatile as they are responsible for learning choreography quickly, adapting to new styles as they work with the choreographers preparing for the end of the week showing. (July 24th off – makeup on Saturday, July 27th)
 
If interested in choreographing, please submit your prospectus outlining your choreographic intent, music selection and a brief statement of why you would be a good candidate for this experience. Email this to office@jacquelinesballet.com. Four choreographers will be selected.

Required for current JSB Pro-Track students.

‍JUNIOR DIVISION

SCHEDULE

2 hours daily, Monday through Thursday

CLASSES

Ballet Technique by a master teacher will be taught each day with an additional class in Pointe Prep • Contemporary • Modern • Jazz •  Musical Theater • Hip-Hop • Conditioning • African, Nutrition, 

TUITION

$950 full 5 week session or $200 per week

*July 22-26 Choreography week (July 24th off – makeup on Friday, July 26th) 

Recommended JSB Class Level: Level 4 & 5

Required for current JSB Pro-Track students and those wanting consideration for fall 2024 Pro-Track

*Required for place reservation in the Summer program. Deposit applies toward the total cost of tuition. Deposit is non-refundable.

Full tuition due May 1, 2024

An automatic charge will incur May 1 of any tuition balance to card on file.

If withdrawal from the Summer Program is necessary, a 75% refund may be given prior to May 15, 2024 after which no refunds will be given

VISITING STUDENTS

We welcome and are excited to have visiting students to our Summer Program.

AUDITIONS

Visiting students need to audition for program placement, please provide the following in a video link:

• Barre work (only one sided)  Pliés, tendus, adagio, grand battements

• Center work
Pirouette combination with pirouettes en-dehors and en-dedans.  Adagio,
allegro combinations small jumps, medium size allegro, including assembles, jetés, grand allegro

▪ Pointe work (ladies only)  echappés, retirés, double pirouettes en-dehors and en-dedans
